Street Fighter 4

Mon Jun 22, 2009, 6:01 PM
I just bought Street Fighter 4 about a week ago and i must say, i was pleasantly surprised with the game.

Capcom has stayed true to the fact that they rarely if ever change how you execute special moves. Quater cirle forward + punch still equals hadouken, hehehe.

While the game has alot of the Classic characters such as Blanka, who still has one of the cheapest moves in history, stupid ass little lightning move. I HATE YOU BLANKA!!!

Along with the clssics that you can choose from before you unlock others, they hav introduced 3 new characters: C. Viper, Rufus and El Fuerte.

C. Viper is a nice addition to the Street Fighter roster, she's got great counter moves and grey area back ground witch adds to her coolness.

Rufus is a character that as far as I am concerned was not needed, he's unique thats for sure, but not needed. They could have added one of the older characters from the other games, such as....Rolento, yes Rolento would have been a good choice.

El Fuerte is a character that is neat, he's another wrestler aside from Zangeif but he's a luchadore which makes hm faster (and a little hard to control, atleast for me), plus he's a cook. On the other hand, if they had wanted to add another Wrestler to the game, why not use R. Mika, Hugo or even Alex?

As for Unlockable characters, they brought in some more classics some of which I was not surprised to see, others i was surprised and pleased t see. Dan is the one i was most pleased to see, I have been a fan of Dan since i was first introduced to him in Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter.

Akuma is also in the game, which i really wasnt surprised about. Gouken was a nice surprise as well, i never thought they would FINALLY reveal Ken and Ryu's Sensei (im not sure if they did in another game or not).

The game itself I find to flow pretty smooth, and the animated stories for each character is a nice touch.

I rate the game a 9 outta 10. Why a 9 you ask, a nine because of Rufus.

Let me know what you think of this game.
